My husband and I scoped the tables maybe 10 minutes before securing a chair. I was pleasantly surprised to find a few $10 min tables and the $15 tables were plentiful. I'm a fan of blackjack, but don't have the bankroll, so I was concerned that I would only find high-dollar minimum tables. After getting drinks we went to get player cards no perks given, but we earned a few dollars in comps from playing that we applied at the gift shop before we left (not sure if we'll be back soon enough to use them). Checking in at the security guard (ID) was a breeze and he was kind to explain where I could get soda/water/coffee for free (not self-serve- there are waitresses/tip jars so bring ones) and the places we could order drinks (have to buy my Jack & Coke was $6 plus tip).

Parking was free and close to the casino entrance. We got there around 7pm Friday evening and stayed maybe 2.5 hours.

We took a detour to the casino while in Asheville this past weekend (10/17/14). This visit was more than what we expected. Sandwiches at Boarhead deli were also very good, we thought. We ordered a large pizza and found it to be very good. The restaurants-we ate at Ruth's Chris (would not recommend) and at the food court. There are a lot of shops you can just window-shop and walk around in. There is an indoor pool as well as outdoor. Even if you don't gamble, there is still a lot to enjoy at this property. My experience, overall was much better than what I expected. I can say this, the ones I did, most was very nice and asked if the smoke would bother me! Now that was respect. You did however, might have someone sit down next to you that smoke. I did win some and the other people in my party, did as well. The choices were very good on slot machines.

I was not expecting it to be so nice and so large. The casino, I thought was extremely nice. The resort-you should walk around inside and outside to appreciate the beauty of this property. We also saw a room in the Mountain Tower and it was a little dated but nice and had a nicer view than the others. I really like this so much better, personally. There was only a shower in the room, so we switched to another tower-Soco tower. There was a view, somewhat of mtns, but a view of the parking lot instead. The views, well that is a different story. If you walk around and just look at all the history-artwork, pottery, etc and all the places to just sit down and enjoy, inside and out-you will have a good and relaxing time. The hotel and casino is very clean and it is very large, from the parking to the hotel to the casino. It is a beautiful property from the grounds outside to everything inside.
